Friday Inspirations!!

If you can't tell by my last few posts, it's all about color for me in everything!! Check out my latest inspirations; Minkoff, Macarons and Louboutins!!

Rebecca Minkoff Bags + Macarons

(Image via http://lovenotes.rebeccaminkoff.com)

I love the whole collection of bags from Rebecca Minkoff, but I'm really liking the yellow snake on this bag here; it's so vibrant and chic! Looks really good next to the macarons here.

If you've never had a macaron, do not hesitiate to try it! Trust me, you will not regret!! My personal faves are espresso, coconut and vanilla. I literally walk by Macaron Cafe daily so it's hard not to get a few every other day!  They taste sooo good and are visually appealing to the eye...makes for a great experience :-)!!

You can get macarons here in the states @ http://macaroncafe.com or abroad from LaDuree http://www.laduree.fr/

Christian Louboutin Unbout Illusion Pumps

I saw them for the first time on instagram the other day and had to find out, who, what, wear..lol! Of course, I found a pic of Solange Knowles with a black pair on...love her whole look here! Im really loving her style transformation of late...you can tell this is really her and not a contrived version of who she thinks she should be!!

Solange is rocking a tee by Splendid, Skirt by Maki Oh and clutch by Lie Sang Bong...

I have to do a look for less post on this one!!

(see here for image sources:http://weheartit.com/modehaven)

Enjoy your weekend :-)!!

New Bag Obsession: MK Hamilton Tote in Laquer Pink

Sooo, I spotted the Michael Kors Hamilton Tote in bright pink yesterday while browsing online, like I usually do, and just had to share real quick! This has got to be the best color I have seen it in!! I have the black, but am seriously loving this color and need to at least find something in this shade. The color is so on trend and perfect for now. I wear my tote everyday, so if you're contemplating on getting this...definitely try this standout color!! Have a happy Thursday and enjoy the rest of your day :-)!!!

Color Me Pretty: Great Pastel Picks at Every Price Point!!

Happy Friday all! Browsing for pastel colored blazers today on www.shopstyle.com and decided to look for some other options as well; shoes, bags, accessories, etc and came across some really cool finds. I am loving all of these picks here, which would be great accents to any look. I am especially in love with these Oscar De La Renta wedges and Versus slingbacks, which of course, has to be out of my price range. But as always, I’ll be on a look for less mission, so I will most definitely update you with any finds :-)! Have a great weekend all!

Mixed Prints: Stripes & Leopard and How to Wear It Now!

Happy Hump Day all!! Week is almost over, been crazy busy as usual, but wanted to share my latest wants and trend inspirations with you! Lately, I've been really into mixing prints; mainly stripes with florals, dots with florals, stripes with leopard prints, etc. My fave combo is the stripes and leopard print, of course and this is my look inspired by this combo.

I’m loving the whole feel of this look right here. I could have done a full on striped shirt but I’m liking the minimalist feel to this top so went with that instead. It’s very easy to pair with black jeans, but to step it up a notch I’m liking the red skinnies as an option as well. What do you think of this look? Are you into mixing patterns, if so, what’s your fave combo?

Weekend Shopping Look: Khaki & Neon Color Combo

TGIF Everyone! It’s going to be another great day weather wise and a perfect weekend for shopping or just to be out and about! Lately, I’ve been gravitating towards neon mixes with khaki color, so wanted to come up with an idea on how to mix the two this weekend and this is the result! I love the pieces here because it’s a perfect mix of edgy and preppy! This look is simple and not over the top yet still makes a style statement AND is comfortable enough to go shopping or be out and about in! Have a great weekend all!!

Outfit Inspirations: Dannijo Sinatra Necklace

Happy Tuesday all! I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far!! If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you might have seen my post last week letting you know that I won the Dannijo Sinatra necklace via a contest on the Reqoop app! I actually posted about this style a few months ago when I first noticed it and was looking for a look for less option. The Sinatra looks just like the Hixson collar above but the colors are slightly different! I am soo excited to wear it and cant wait to see it when I get home today! Basically, the contest was just to snap a picture of an item that you would pair with it. I snapped up this really cute blazer from Zara in yellow and sent my entry in. I have yet to purchase the blazer but would love to rock it with the necklace like this! A subtle colorblock action with the cobalt colored denim and toned down with the black pumps, clutch and cream blouse. What do you think of my look?

TGIF Inspiration: Be Bright

TGIF everyone! Happy the work week is finally winding down and looking forward to the weekend weather. So far, it doesn’t really feel like Spring to me! I swear it was warmer in March than it has been this week alone. Today I’m wearing all black; black turtleneck, black skinny pants and flats with my trench coat and scarf because I really didn’t even want to leave the house today and I’m cold on top of that. I thrive in warmer weather. (Although, I do like winter fashion :-))I’m just ready for the warmth and looking forward to this weekend to relax, bask in the sunlight and get out of this blah colorless mode!! Here are some really cute wardrobe accents that I’m sure would brighten up any look whatever your plans are this weekend!

It's Been Awhile!!

Hello all, I’m going to be away for the next few days and have already neglected this blog for the past two weeks. Work has been really, really busy for me. On one hand, it’s a good thing because that means business is doing well. But on the other hand, I’m so drained and just don’t have too much time to post when I get home in the evenings.

So for the next week or so I’ll repost fashion news and posts that I come across. I definitely love blogging and hope to be back at this very soon. In the meantime, I have been Poshmarking, Instagraming, Pinning, ReQooping and all that jazz…so follow me if you can to see what I’ve been up to J!!  You can find me under Mode Haven or Rachel G! Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for reading!

Holst + Lee

ModeHaven reblogged this from Tiger Tem's Fashion Bites and added:
Looove!!!!

The Masai inspired style of jewelllery in bold and bright colours caught my eye while I was engaging in a little window shopping on Shopbop (easily one of my favourites). The techno tribal style in eye-popping colours is right up my street. Fun, playful and ideal wrist candy. It's calling out for a little weekend DIY.

Buy here and read their interview here.

Faded Love

ModeHaven reblogged this from Tiger Tem's Fashion Bites and added:
A definite must have!!!

I love the versatility of a hardworking piece that's easy to dress up or down as the occasion requires. My denim shirt is easily one of the hardest working pieces in my wardrobe. Whenever I'm stuck for what to wear, by day I wear it with skinny cords, by night with a leather skirt.

Notify $150 now $72  |  J Crew Popover $72  |  Marc Jacobs $200 now $70

Paul & Joe $220 now $90  |  Madewell $80  |  Old Navy $27

Topshop $64  |  J Crew $78  |  Old Navy $30

Sequined Minis

Happy Thursday all! I’ve been seeing lots of mini sequined skirts in fun patterns lately and although I’m not much of a mini skirt wearer…this is definitely a trend I want to try! I’m loving the Navajo print on this skirt from Alllsaints.com. I would pair it with a simple white blouse tucked in, gold pumps similar to these Alexander McQueen’s and statement earrings like these from Amrita Singh. They all compliment the skirt without taking the focus away. I also found some looks for less options at Express (shown here) that would work and www.Zara.com has some cool alternatives as well! That said, I think it’s time for me to get some squats in so I can wear these comfortably in the summer :-)!! What do you think of this look?

Monday Morning Inspiration: Miu Miu Python Effect Leather Pumps

Happy Monday All! It's a new week and another day closer to Spring, thank goodness! At this point of winter, I'm just really tired of the cold, heavy layers and dark colors! So my pick this week is the complete opposite. I am loving these very spring-y Miu Miu pumps in a gorgeous turquoise python print! Would look great with a pair of cropped trousers, silk blouse and chunky collar necklace or even paired with a nice fitted dress for a hot summer date!! (Miu Miu Python-effect leather pumps $580.00 - www.net-a-porter.com)

Enjoy your week everyone!!

My Latest Buys!

I went shopping this weekend, but didn’t get too much as I’ve been shopping a lot lately! Pictured above are some of my latest buys, from the last few weeks, that I really love! These are my favorite because most can be worn now and later, so I like the flexibility! After talking about this bag here, I finally bought the Michael Kors Hamilton tote. I ordered it from zappos.com and literally received it the next day (free overnight shipping :-)) and have been wearing it ever since. I also check out Mango all the time and purchased these leopard wedge boots from there last week. You all know by now, how much I love my leopard and while I am mostly conservative…these boots challenge me to push the style envelope. The chunky bead necklace from my recent trip to H&M stood out to me and I bought the black and white striped nautical top to go with it. I think It would actually work well with my black cropped pants from Urban Outfitters and the H&M flats. I also purchased a similar pair of wayfarer glasses from Urban Outfitters this weekend, but it wasn’t the Ray-Ban brand and only costs me about $14. What do you think of my buys? I still want a few more things but want to fall back on spending for the next few weeks. It is hard as ever though, since I work on 34th Street and I literally have to walk past these stores everyday. Pray for me guys..lol! Have a great Wednesday everyone!!

Great Finds From Aldo!

I went to Aldo this past weekend and spotted tons of cute bags, shoes and accessories. I couldn’t fit all my likes in this one post so I chose the ones I liked most! I like the use of patterns, fabrics and details here. I want to get in on the floral trend by going basic with my look and using the pattern on my feet and think these pumps are a cool option. The Aztec/Navajo pattern on the fedora is a classic style with a cool update and I even like the basic style, you can never go wrong with that! Loving the mix of animal prints on the Soderquist sandals and especially the laser cut pattern on the white bag which gives it an instant classic feel. Colorblocking is still hot and I like any combo that includes black and white. The neon clutch is really cute and a great way to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe by adding just a pop of color! What do you think of my finds?

I did a bit of shopping and found so many great inspirations to share with you this week! First and foremost, are these amazing sandals that I spotted while checking out BCBG. Monday Morning Inspiration: Whitney Houston's How Will I Know and Neon Pumps by Christian Louboutin

Morning all! Saddened by the news of Whitney Houston's untimely death but inspired by the fact that she made the most of her life and touched so many.  Whitney had her demons (who doesn't) but she did live her life and inpired many, including me, with her powerful voice and music! "How Will I Know" is the first video I've ever seen of hers. It was cool, upbeat and it stood out to a 7 year old me at the time. Whitney Houston was graceful, talented and definitely beautiful and will surely be missed! RIP to the Queen of Pop, Whitney Elizabeth Houston  (August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012)!

I think these neon Louboutins fit the vibe of the video here, so therefore is my pick this week! Enjoy your day everyone :-)!

Get This Look: Michelle Williams in Tibi Tuxedo Blazer and Cobalt Blue Jeans

Loving this look on Michelle Williams! Wearing a Tibi tuxedo jacket (that I found to retail anywhere from $263-$467!!!), I found a great look a like at Zara that is very similar in detail and only 89.90. I also found tons of striped tops with tropical appliques like her top from Stella McCartney, but none really fit the bill so I went with this striped with gold anchor detail instead from Alloy. The blazer will pull the look together and the gold anchor ties in with the hardware on the Mango satchel, which at $229 is still a bargain to her Louis Vuitton bag! I love how she paired these with Current/Elliot jeans in a pop color like cobalt instead of black pants or dark blue jeans. Here is my look for less!

Trend Inspirations: Tribal Prints Coats

Tribal prints are not just for summer...you can get in on the trend now by wearing cool Navajo prints like Kristin Cavallari, Hilary Duff and Katherine Heigl here in the colder months.

Image via People Style Watch

A really cool option and my inspiration behind this post would be this coat  below from Esprit...spotted it a few times in the city. It is really cute, looks very warm and cozy, but it seems to be sold out now :-(!! So I'm on a search for a similar option. I'm using this search here for help and hope I'm lucky!!

Monday Morning Inspiration : Giuseppe Zanotti Black Floral Pumps

Good Morning all!! I hope your weekend was pleasant! Mine was very nice, relaxing and of course topped off with a victory for the NY Giants :-)!(Not much of a football fan, but I cant help support the Giants when they make it to the Superbowl!!) My pick for this week are these gorgeous Guiseppe Zanotti's in a beautiful satin floral print against a black setting...I love the artsy contrast of the colors here and think it's versatile enough to wear with a dress but also a great choice to pair up with jeans!! Enjoy your Monday!!

Trend Inspiration: Short Collar Necklaces

Happy Friday everyone!! Hope you had a pleasant and productive week!! I had a very busy one, so as always I'm grateful for the weekend! This week I've noticed collar neck styles more than usual. I saw them a few months ago while checking out other blogs but have seen them more and more lately and they are really growing on me. Take a look at all the different styles here! They are not as big as a bib necklace yet I feel they still stand out and make a great statement. These looks are my fave in style, shape and detail, especially the Dannijo style in the 5th image. I really love their necklaces and I'm also really loving the ones that look like collars. What do you think of these??

My New Faves from Proenza Schouler

The Proenza Schouler PS1 is the ultimate in coolness personified in a bag and I love the fact that they now have a tote version! It’s still pricey as ever but I love ‘em anyway :-)! The body is elongated in this tote version and the color choices are right in step with the brights to come this summer. The shopping totes are also very nice…the python and floral style really stand out to me and would be great for any out and about excursions or on vacation! I would rock these everyday, all day!!
