I was reading the October 2011 issue of Essence this past weekend at the hair salon and came across a feature on the Elly Clay handbag line. Started in 2009 by Crystal Haylett, this brand was picked up by Henri Bendel in 2010 after Haylett attended an Open See. Held once a year, designers wait in very, very long lines to be seen by a Henri Bendel buyer with the hopes of their line being chosen to be carried in the stores. I can definitely see why this line is chosen, it has that rocker chic/high end edge to it. I would love to be a clutch designer one day and when I do this is the quality and feel I would love my line to have. The line include these envelope style clutches, as well as fringe, hobo and wrist bags (the wrist bags are very, very cute) and retail from $85-360 on handbago.com and $150-295 on ustrendy.com. (You can even customize the design/colors on the UStrendy.com site). The top style is the super studded clutch and the bottom two are the Billie Jean clutches from the Spring 2011 collection. You can find and purchase these Billie Jean styles on Handbago.com and UStrendy.com. (See links 1-3 in image for more info and how to purchase)
