Designer Spotlight: Reed Krakoff

Happy Labor Day all! Its the start of a new month and I'm really excited because we are closer to fall, my favorite time for fashion :-)! Since it's a new season, I'm going to switch things up and try to do designer spotlights every Monday. My designer spotlight will highlight new items from a selected designer that I'm adding to my never ending wishlist.

This weeks pick is Reed Krakoff, who has a full line of ready to wear, jewelry, shoes and bags. I've been checking out the bags for a few months now, especially the Atlantique shape, and decided to check out the rest of the line. All my picks here are minimal in design but still have tons of style packed in. A huge dose of colorblocking is going on here, a trend that has become a staple in designer collections for the past few seasons, and it really works! Anything black, gold and studded will always be a fave for me, so I had to add this watch to my list...doubling as a bracelet is genius!

Get this Look: Nicole Richie - Fall Short Style Inspiration

Happy Friday all! Sharing a random style inspiration post via my shopstyle page. I was looking up ideas on high waisted pants and shorts and came across this look on Nicole Richie. A great way to keep the shorts going in the fall. I added an orange touch for the bag and decided to subtly mix prints with the lace tights and leopard scarf. Beat The Heat: Celeb Inspiration - Solange Knowles in Tracey Reese Maxi Skirt

It was super hot this weekend and the heat continues today! I'm going on vacation in another week to the Caribbean and looking for some looking cool while beating the heat style inspo. I came across this pic of Solange Knowles in this gorgeous maxi skirt from Tracey Reese and that was all the inspiration I needed.

I'm loving the pop color of this skirt and the top she paired it with. What I also really love is how the skirt is super versatile and great for keeping cool in this hot weather. For work you can pair this with a blazer, cami and  statement accessories if you work in a creative environment or wear a more neutral tone skirt, if your office is conservative. This is also, a great look for vacation of course or just being out and about.

Get This Look: Monica in Helmut Lang On Cover of Ebony Magazine

Happy Tuesday all! I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! Mine was very relaxing, but its back to work again. I was glancing through the latest issue of Ebony on my way in to work today, with Monica and Brandy on the cover. The softness of the yellow dress on Monica and the heavy duty metal belt look really cool to me, so I had to see if I can find a look for less option. Monica is wearing a dress by Helmut Lang ($304) and Theory jacket ($398), but since it’s officially hot in the city I skipped the jacket and went with this dress from TopShop. It has a softness to it as well, and the high/low hem is perfect. www.Saboskirt.com has a similar belt to what Monica is wearing for just $38.00 which is a steal. I like to keep things minimal, so I accessorized the rest of my look with gold accents and clutch in a pop color.
